What is iMistAway?
iMistAway is a technology that enables monitoring and management of MistAway’s mosquito misting systems over the internet.
It allows MistAway’s dealers to provide a superior level of service to their customers by enabling activities like monitoring the volume of concentrate remaining in the misting unit and checking for error conditions like a leak or tripped GFCI.
iMist is also available to do-it-yourselfers who maintain their own systems.
The solution includes a smartphone that allows the dealer or homeowner to see the status of a system or trigger a remote mist.
Hardware Requirements
iMistAway only works with misting units manufactured by MistAway Systems, either a Gen 3 tankless unit or Gen 1.3 drum unit.
There are two generations of the iMistAway communications hardware:
iMist3 Cellular Module – is the current generation and connects to the internet via a cell tower. The module is a small black box with an antenna that is installed under the plastic enclosure of a Gen 1.3 drum unit or on the underside of the lid on a Gen 3 tankless unit.
iMist2 – is the previous generation and is no longer available for sale. It connects to the internet via an iMist2 gateway that is plugged into a router inside the home. The gateway broadcasts its own wireless network and communicates with the light colored “iMist2-ready” receiver that is installed on the misting unit.
Installation
Once the hardware is in place and activated, you’ll receive an email invitation to create a password. Your email address and password will serve as credentials that will allow you to log into the iMistAway app.
