Controller: “Learning” the iMist2-ready Handheld Remote Transmitter

The “iMist2-ready” handheld transmitter with the light colored label will communicate with the white “iMist2-ready” receiver but not with the first generation (black) receiver.

1. Put the iMist2-ready receiver on the misting unit into “Learn” mode at the controller

SET-UP Menu, LRT
Press and hold Green ► button for 5 seconds until LRT is displayed and countdown starts

2. While the controller is counting down, put the handheld transmitter into “Learn” mode with a paper clip

Pull the plastic “battery-save” protection tab (if present) from remote transmitter.
Use the supplied paperclip to press and quickly release the recessed pairing button on back of transmitter. DO NOT HOLD PAIRING BUTTON DOWN!
The blue LED above the button will flash several times, indicating it is in pairing mode
The controller display will indicate DONE when the transmitter and receiver are paired with each other.

3. If countdown continues without displaying DONE . . .

In Step 2, if the pairing button is held down too long, the remote transmitter may have entered a frozen mode and will not pair with the receiver. You can tell if this has occurred by pressing (but not holding) the pairing button with the paper clip. If the blue LED flashes twice, it is in the frozen mode.
If this has occurred, press and release the pairing button 4 times in succession. On the 5th press, hold the button down for about 3 seconds. While the button is pressed, the blue LED will be solid and then double blink. After the double blink, release the button.
You should now be able to pair the transmitter and receiver by repeating step 2.

4. Confirm “Learn” by activating a remote mist cycle

Confirm System Mode is set to REM or AUTO-Everyday
Confirm Level: Gen1.3 – MAINTENANCE Menu, Level; Gen 3 – MAINTENANCE Menu, REFILL routine
Confirm number of nozzles: SET-Up Menu, NOZ
Confirm remote mist duration: SET-UP Menu, REM
Press MIST on handheld
LED on front of handheld will light when it receives confirming signal from iMist2-ready receiver on unit and unit will begin its mist cycle.

Set System Mode

On the home screen, which shows day and time, press Green ► button to position ▲at top of display to one of four System Modes:

OFF – daily agitation cycle only.
REM – Unit will allow Remote and Manual mists, but no AUTO-MISTs. (Units sold prior to 2012, Mode is ON)
AUTO Everyday – Misting program runs daily. This is the most common System Mode.
AUTO Custom – mist program runs on days configured in CUSTOM PGM.

Enter Menu Item

Pressing Red MENU/STOP button displays triangular cursor, ►, by DAY/TIME position on left side of display.
Use ▲ and ▼ buttons to move through list of menu items – DAY/Time, CYCLES, SET-UP, MAINTENANCE, DATA
Use Green ► button to select menu item.

View or Change Data in Menu Item

A flashing data element can be changed with the ▲ and ▼ buttons.
Move to the next element with the Green ► button.
Exit the menu item by pressing the MENU button.
The value of the data element is automatically saved when you move to the next data element or exit.

Initiate routine in Menu Item

There are a number of routines that are initiated by pressing and holding the Green ► button for 5 seconds.
SET-UP Menu – LRN,
MAINTENANCE Menu – LEVEL (Gen 1.3), REFILL (Gen 3), CHG (Gen 3), WINT (Gen 3) INS, DRN
DATA Menu – TOL, HLD

Clear Codes that have suspended operation of the unit

ERRor codes – Clear by pressing and holding the Red MENU/Stop button for 5 seconds.
NOZ00 – Clear by pressing and holding the Red MENU/Stop button for 5 seconds.
SKIP (NEXT MIST) – Clear by pressing and holding the ▲ for 5 seconds.

Reset controller to factory settings

Unplug unit
Press and hold MENU and ▲ buttons simultaneously while restoring power to unit.
Mist cycles, remote duration and number of nozzles must be reentered.

Controller: Setting System Mode

Setting System Mode
With the display showing day, time and level, press Green ► button to position the ▲ at top of display pointing to active System Mode.

OFF – daily agitation cycle only

ON – remote and manual, but no programmed mist

AUTO Everyday – mist schedule runs daily. This is the most common System Mode.

AUTO Custom – mist program runs on days configured in CUSTOM PGM

Controller: Setting AUTO MIST Cycles

Set AUTO MIST Cycles

2 – 3 scheduled mists of 30-60 seconds in duration is common. See Mist Schedule and Duration for field standard frequency, duration and mist times.
CYCLES Menu
Blinking C# identifies each automatic mist cycle with current mist duration and mist time. Limit is 24 cycles per day.
Set mist duration and time (note AM/PM) for each desired scheduled mist.

Set AUTO MIST Days – If you don’t want to schedule mists for every day

CUSTOM PGM Menu
Set selected days to ON or OFF
System Mode must be set to AUTO Custom. See Controller: Setting System Mode

Controller: Manual Mist

Press and hold the ▲ and ▼ arrows simultaneously for 2 seconds to activate a mist cycle for the duration programmed for MAN in the SET-UP Menu.

Controller: Using the Remote

MIST Button

Activates a REMOTE MIST for the duration defined in the SET-UP menu. (SET-UP Menu, REM, Set duration in seconds)

An agitation cycle may precede the REMOTE MIST, depending on the remote agitation duration configured in the SET-UP menu. (SET-UP Menu, RAG, Set duration in seconds)

If RAG is not available as an option on the SET-UP menu, the system will agitate for 15 seconds prior to a REMOTE MIST.

If a Zone Kit is installed, see Gen 1.3 Option: Zone Kit to configure how the remote transmitter works.

STOP MIST Button

The STOP MIST button stops the current operation of the unit. It will not change the System Mode from ON or AUTO to OFF.

SKIP NEXT MIST Button

The SKIP NEXT MIST button enables the next programmed AUTO MIST to be skipped. The controller will display “SKIP.”

While the unit is flashing SKIP, it will still respond to a Remote or MANUAL MIST.

When an AUTO MIST has been skipped, the unit will return to the normal display, with a flashing “sunshine” icon in the lower right corner of the display.

You may only skip one mist at a time. That is, pushing the SKIP NEXT MIST button multiple times will not cause multiple AUTO MIST cycles to be skipped.

Clear skip by holding down the ▲ button on the controller for 3 seconds.

Controller: “Learning” the 1st Generation Handheld Remote Transmitter

To ensure that another nearby transmitter will not accidentally activate the unit, the remote receiver can be configured to recognize a specific remote transmitter by changing the position of DIP switches on the transmitter prior to the LRN step.

1. Open the transmitter and change the position of one or more DIP switches

A. The DIP switches are located on back of transmitter, on the side opposite the antenna, under a small plastic cover as shown.

B. Use the end of a pen to change the position of one or more of the switches, then replace cover.

2. Orient Remote Transmitter

SET-UP Menu, LRN
Press and hold Green ► button for 5 seconds until LRN ON and countdown starts
Press and hold any button on the remote transmitter until DONE is displayed.

Controller: Remote Transmitter Battery

The remote transmitter uses a 3V CR2032 Lithium Battery. Install the battery with the positive end facing up.

Controller: Flashing Sun Symbol

flashing sun symbol indicates that the previous mist was skipped for one of three reasons:

1. The user triggered a SKIP NEXT MIST with the remote, and the most recent AUTO MIST was skipped. The next AUTO MIST will be executed as programmed.

2. The Maximum Daily Mist time has been reached.

3. The (optional) wind sensor blocked the previous AUTO MIST.
